5th Generation: Albemarle Hendricks (descendants of Francis Hendrickson of Albemarle County, NC)

This next list of generations moves me closer to my own research. My connection to Tignal Hendricks is speculative, but based on strong circumstantial evidence. DNA also ties my family to the Nash County Hendricks families of James Branch Hendricks (son of Isaac Hendricks of Nash County who is thought to be Tignal's brother) and Simon Hendricks of Nash County. Simon was born c1821.

Generation 5

24. JOHN5 HENDRICKS (Jabesh4, Daniel3, Thomas2 Hendrick, Francis1 Hendrickson) was born about 1756 in Speller Branch of Smithwick Creek, Tyrrell County, North Carolina. He died on 21 Oct 1837 in Screven County, Georgia. He married MARY TALLANT about 1789.

Notes for John Hendricks:
Info from unpublished research by Dr. John Scott Davenport "the Hendricksons of Ye Halfway tree, Pasquotank Precinct, Albemarle county, North Carolina".

John Hendricks and Mary Tallant had the following child:

 28. i. JOHN J.6 HENDRICKS (son of John Hendricks and Mary Tallant) was born in 1795 in Tattnall County, Georgia. He died in 1837. He married JEMIMA BREWTON, daughter of Nathan Brewton and Nancy Fountaine. She was born on 09 Dec 1795. She died on 10 Jun 1876.

25. DANIEL5 HENDRICKS (Jabesh4, Daniel3, Thomas2 Hendrick, Francis1 Hendrickson) was born about 1769 in North Carolina. He died on 05 Feb 1833 in Bulloch County, Georgia. He married MARY BOWEN about 1794, daughter of Clifton Bowen and Martha [Bowen].

Daniel Hendricks and Mary Bowen had the following child:

29. i. WILEY P.6 HENDRICKS (son of Daniel Hendricks and Mary Bowen). He married  CYNTHIA WEAVERS.

26. ISAAC5 HENDRICKS (William4, William3 Hendrick, William2 Hendrick, Francis1 Hendrickson) was born between 1766-1770 in Nash County, North Carolina. He died between 1830-1840 in Nash County, North Carolina.

Notes for Isaac Hendricks: Info on descendants of Isaac Hendricks comes from book by Tim Rackley called "The Rackleys". Information on book provided by Tommie T. Hendricks. Connection to Isaac is not confirmed. Isaac Hendricks (probably same) listed in:

1800 US Census, Hallifax TWP, NC - 1M 26-45; 2F 0-10; 1F 10-16 (wife???); 1 slave 1810 US Census, Hallifax Twp, NC - 2M 0-10; 1M 26-45; 2F 0-10; 1F 25-45;

He married (2) SARAH WORLEY on 02 May 1822 in Nash County, North Carolina. She was born between 1790-1800. She died before 1840.

Notes for Tignal Hendricks: Connection with Nathan T. Hendricks is presumptive and circumstantial and not proven. Land transactions indicate a relationship between Nathan and Wilson Hendricks in mid-1800's in Georgia. Published genealogy of Wilson Hendricks indicates him as son of Tignal Hendricks of Nash County, NC (primary source unknown, but possibly family information). Pension papers of WHC Hendrick (son of Nathan) indicate he was born in Nash County, NC. It is likely that Nathan is related to this family, though he could be descendant of Tignal's brother Isaac or even more distant relationship. Relationship to Berry is also purely speculative. Nash County court records refer to a "Kittleberry Hendricks". He was ordered in Nash County Feb Term 1828 to pay Polly Pridgen for support of her child of which he was the reputed father.

Hendricks Family History: Descendants of Francis Hendrickson, Generation 4

This is the next generation of the descendants of Francis Hendrickson. Up to this point, my info is almost exclusively based on the research of Dr. Davenport. I understand there may be some corrections or updates to this work based on DNA findings. If anyone has any corrections to make, please feel free to comment. I am never offended by the facts if supported. I also encourage speculation and theorizing as long as everyone is polite and respectful and supports their thoughts with facts and logic. I try to approach genealogy with the same tools that I do science and medicine.

1800 Census, Hallifax TWP, NC - 1M 0-10; 1M 10-15; 3F 16-26; 1F 26-45; 1F 45+

William Hendricks and Elizabeth Carter had the following children:

Nash County Deed Book 5, p247 states "Daniel Warren of Sumner Co, TN sold his intereste in land formerly the propety of William Hendricks which fell by the death of said William Hendrick to his widow, Mary Warren, Jan. 18, 1806." Many assumptions made here...

ii.       WILLIE HENDRICKS (son of William Hendricks and Elizabeth Carter).

Notes for Willie Hendricks:

Apparently in 1800 census as William Hendrick: 1800 Census, Hallifax TWP, NC - 1M 26-45;
26.                 iii.     ISAAC HENDRICKS (son of William Hendricks and Elizabeth Carter) was born
between 1766-1770 in Nash County, North Carolina. He died between 1830-1840 in Nash County, North Carolina.

27.            iv. TIGNAL HENDRICKS (son of William Hendricks and Elizabeth Carter) was born between 1775-1780 in Nash County, North Carolina. He died between 1840-1850 in Nash County, North Carolina. He married (1) ELIZABETH ETHERIDGE. She was born about 1784. She died before 1824. He married (2) SARAH WORLEY on 02 May 1822 in Nash County, North Carolina. She was born between 1790-1800. She died before 1840.
